How to install and run Visual CertExam (.VCE) files in Ubuntu: Written by Andrew Thomas

1) Copy your CertExam files to a folder on your Linux Machine (A new folder on the desktop is fine) Just remember where you put them.

 

2) Install Wine.

Open a Terminal Window: Applications,Accessories, Terminal

Type: sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install wine

 

3)Click: Applications,Wine, Browse C:\Drive,

Browse to where you have copied your CertExam files,

Double click on Visual Certexam Suite setup.exe file.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install the program.

 

4) Open a Terminal Window: Applications,Accessories,Terminal

Type: wine regedit (The Registry Editor Opens)

Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER,Software,Visual CertExam Suite

Click on Visual CertExam Suite folder in the left pane to highlight it (you have to create 3 new registry keys)

In the right Pane RIGHT CLICK an empty spot and click NEW, then String Value

Name this new string ActCode do the same thing to create 2 more strings RegCode and Serial.

 

RIGHT CLICK on ActCode and select Modify type in your Activation code it should look something like the screen shot below. Right Click the other 2 strings and type in the respective information for the Serial number and the Registration Code,

Close Registry Editor “You are Done”
